2011 Mexican 1000
This year’s Mexican 1000 was a totally different event for me than last year. Last year I was able to be on the start and finish lines and show my support and excitement for my friend racers, and it was a blast. This year I moved up the totem pole a bit and became the Administrative Director of NORRA. I had a great time leading to the event, getting to know many of the racers better through email and phones calls as their entries came in and as we shared ideas and thoughts and excitement at the event grew near.
I knew I would spend most of the actual event in offices working on timing and other issues that would pop up, so I recruited Heather to take my place on the start and finish lines. She fit in great with the NORRA team, just like I knew she would, and Heather and Ashley both did an awesome job at each start and finish. I stayed mostly behind the scenes this year, but still had a great time.
